Headlines Can’t Be Trusted, Or Can They?

Real estate agents have the unique position and obligation to comment on Real Estate Headlines.

For example, on May 18 I opened my Wall Street Journal Notifications and saw this headline: “Home Prices Posted Largest Annual Drop in More Than 11 Years in April”.

What does that mean? Is it true?

Realtors need to read the articles and then compare it to their local market to determine if the news really applies to them. In this case, part of the story is accurate and other parts are not reflective of my market.

My market tells a different story. Your market tells a different story.

As trusted real estate advisors and as top rated agents, we have to know our markets and then help others interpret the news accordingly.
